BharatGPT Hanooman AI

Reliance Industries Limited, owned by Mukesh Ambani, is getting ready to introduce ChatGPT-like AI chatbot “Hanuman” next month. The ‘Bharat GPT Group,’ a consortium of eight affiliated universities and the company, are working together on this.

What is Hanooman?

Hanooman is a collection of large Indic language models based on 22 Indian languages. Seetha Mahalaxmi Healthcare (SML) unveiled it in collaboration with the BharatGPT ecosystem, which is led by IIT Bombay.

A group of seven IITs, led by IIT Bombay, conducts research together as the BharatGPT ecosystem. This has the support of SML, Reliance Jio, and the Department of Science and Technology.

Size Of Language Model

The size of the foundational language model family spans up to 40 billion parameters. Next month, the first four parameters in the series—1.5 billion, 7 billion, 13 billion, and 40 billion—will be made available for public use.

Indian Languages The Model Responds Currently

Currently, 11 Indian languages—including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Marathi—can be understood by the models. The model’s functionality is intended to be expanded to include all 22 Indian languages.

Capabilities Of Hanooman

Hanooman can create text-to-text, text-to-speech, text-to-video, and vice versa content thanks to its multimodal AI capabilities.

Applications Of Hanooman

Hanooman can produce text-to-text, text-to-speech, text-to-video, and vice versa content thanks to its multimodal AI capabilities.

Challenges Faced In Making of Hanooman

There are challenges in developing a model this complex. A significant challenge is finding high-quality datasets in a variety of Indian languages. Other Indian LLMs like Krutrim from Ola and Airavata from IIT-Madras are also competitors for Hanooman.

Future of India AI

Hanooman is a major advancement in Indian AI, despite its difficulties. With its emphasis on regional languages, open-source methodology, and multimodal features, it has the potential to greatly empower citizens, companies, and even national government projects.
